Eligibility Criteria for NHRC Internship
To be eligible for the NHRC Online Short-Term Internship Programme, candidates must fulfill the following requirements:
- Age Limit: Applicants must not exceed 28 years of age as of 1st February 2025.
- Academic Qualifications: Applicants should be pursuing one of the following:
- 3rd year and onwards of an integrated 5-year PG course
- 3rd or final year of a graduation course
- Any semester/year of a postgraduate degree course (including 3-year LLB programs)
- Any semester/year of a postgraduate diploma course
- Research scholars in any stream
- Academic Performance: Applicants should have secured at least 60% marks in Class 12 and all subsequent examinations.
- Note: The percentage must be clearly mentioned based on CGPA/SGPA with the formula used for calculation.
- Research Potential: Candidates with research potential in the field of human rights will be given preference.
- Previous Internship: Previous NHRC interns are not eligible to apply again.
Internship Benefits
Selected interns will be entitled to the following benefits:
- Stipend: A one-time stipend of ₹2,000.
- Certificate of Participation: The certificate will be awarded based on the following parameters:
- Attendance and Punctuality
- Discipline and Active Participation in online sessions
- Timely submission of Project Presentation, Project Reports, and Book Review.
Required Documents for Application
Candidates must submit the following documents for their application to be considered:
- Passport-sized photograph (size not exceeding 100 KB)
- Class 10 certificate
- Class 12 certificate and mark sheet
- Graduation certificate and mark sheet (if applicable)
- Mark sheet of the last qualifying examination
- Current I-Card of the institution where the candidate is studying
- Recommendation letter from the Principal/Dean/HoD of the current institution
- A 250-word write-up on the topic: “Statement of purpose for joining NHRC Online Short-Term Internship”
- This should explain the applicant’s motivation for joining the internship and how it aligns with their academic and career goals.
